Dear LMS Student:
Welcome back to school! Also on this web site you will find your team letter for the 2019-20 school year! We are excited to welcome you back to LMS to see your teachers, new classes, and friends!
Our teachers will take the time to explain the schedule, and will answer any questions you may have regarding your classes and the days you have them.
Once you receive your student schedule, you will notice that you have core subjects (math, science, English or language arts, social studies or reading for 6th grade, core enrichment for grade 7, and world language or reading for 8th grade), as well as encore classes (such as health, music, physical education, art, tech. ed., family and consumer science, or digital applications). Resource time is set up at the end of each day. Resource time is when students have band, choir, orchestra, possibly math enrichment, or opportunities to complete work and get assistance from teachers.
The most important thing for you to do in planning for the start-up of school is to come to school ready to learn and work with your teachers this year. They will be prepared to help you work through the schedule, and see that you are able to get to all the places you need to go on any given school day. As a matter of fact, for the first morning of school, as you enter the building, we will be directing you by team right to your first classes. Your lockers are located very close to your first class that you see listed on your schedule (period 1). Your teachers will help you get set up with your schedule for the rest of the day. Students are welcome to come in to school to try their lockers on Monday Aug. 12 from 1-3 pm, and Tuesday Aug. 13 from 8-11 am and 1-3 pm.
We know that lunch is very important! All students within each grade will have lunch during the same period (all of 6th grade students eat lunch at 11:03 for example). You will like many of the food features in our cafeteria! Remember, you can bring money to place into your cafeteria account on the first day of school, or your family can submit money on-line though SchoolCafe.
We hope you have been enjoying your summer, and we look forward to seeing you on Aug. 19!
